    • There may be two more descendants. William's Obituary mentions his brother Gabriel Dennis.
      No direct documetion on the connection between Levi Dennis b. 1778 MD and his sons: James M; John ; Gabriel Dennis; and William Gene Dennis. Descendants of the other sons of John Tennison and by default are assigned to Levi. This generation was born and raised in Overton County, TN with the other Dennis family members.
      We have receive DNA confirmation that son Levi H. Dennis b. ca. 1815. is indeed part of our family. Levi H. along with two brothers moved to Allen Co., KY. These families were the only ones to relocate to that county.
      William G Dennis served as a private in the Illinois 11th Regiment Company G of Illinois Infantry. [Film M539- Roll 22]
      1850 Census Morgan Co.,IL showed William Gene's household:
      William age 25; Elizabeth age 21 with children Elizabeth age 2. Also in the household were two males with the last name Gunnel. J Gunnells age 18 and John Gunnel age 26.
      In 1860 census of Wakenda, Carroll County, MO. shows William and wife Elizabeth along with daughter Elizabeth age 12; Ancel R. age 9; daughter, Lydia age 5, and a new baby 4 months old. Also David Moore, age 22 was also listed.
      In the 1870 census the William Gene family had moved back to Waverly, IL.
      In the 1880 Census of Scottville, Macoupin, IL. He is listed as a widow with the two youngest children William L age 14 and Nancy age 11.
