Sep. 21, 1768 - The St. Mary's Co. ,Md. Inventory of John Tennison.

Comment: Although John's will was not probated until June 1768, he had died by Dec. 1767, as is shown in his father #2. Absolam Tennison's will of that date. (See Vol. 1, p. 149.)
The name shown as executor in John's inventory ("John" Tennison) is error and should read "Joanna" Tennison, i.e., John's mother. "Joanna and #2b. Jesse Tennison" (John's brother) served as John's executors until Joanna died, after which Jesse was the surviving executor. The next-of-kin named in the inventory, Sarah Doxey and Ann Tennison, were John's sisters.

Oct. 25, 1769 - The St. Mary's Co., Md. Administration Account of John Tennison. Inventory value: 235/17/9. Payments made by the estate (including payments to Thomas Tennison, James White, and John Perry): 39/5/2. "Executor (surviving): Jesse Tennison. Other executrix was Joanna Tennison." [Source: Skinner, V. L., Jr., "Abstracts of the Administration Accounts of the Prerogative Court of Maryland, 1768-1771," p. 82.]
=====
Comment: It is rather odd that John's wife Elizabeth. is not named in any of his estate proceedings, but it is clear that she was his wife, widow, and the mother of his son Absolam [#2a(I)]. See: (1) the Dec. 1767 will of #2. Absolam Tennison (Vol. 1, p. 149), and (2) the Sep. 1771 will of Elizabeth Tennison (Vol. 2, p. 73.)
John and Elizabeth were m. sometime between Apr. 1765 and Mar. 1767, that is, they were not married when John made his will (Apr. 1765), but they had been m. for at least 9 months when #2. Absolam made his will (Dec. 1767) because their son Absolam is mentioned in that will.

Comment: The inventory dated Apr. 25, 1769 appears to have actually been
made prior in time to the inventory dated Apr. 23, 1769. No other information is
given in these three additional inventories of John Tennison.
