    • Owen Samuel Dennis Jr., 85, husband of Patsy Dennis for 61 years, born in Paris, KY, died Feb 25, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen Samuel and Jeannette Dennis. Mr. Dennis was a lifelong resident of Lexington, KY. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School, attended UK, was a U.S. Army Veteran, and was a retired Deputy State Fire Marshal. His territory as Deputy State Fire Marshal included 13 counties in central and northern KY. He and his wife Pat received numerous accolades including the Don Cash Seaton Safety Award for his contributions to the UK Safety Program. He and his wife Pat were avid UK basketball and football fans. He was associated with the UK Athletics Department (media security) for over 25 years and worked all home basketball and football games. In addition to his wife, survivors include five children, David Dennis (Elaine), Darrell Dennis (Brenda), Debbie Adair (Woody), Dean Dennis, and Dee Ann Flanary (Kane); seven grandchildren, Christopher Dennis (Carolyn), Kyle Dennis, Joshua Adair, Jesse Adair, Haylie Dennis, McKenna and Adleigh Flanary; and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday at Kerr Brothers, Harrodsburg Rd. Graveside services will be held 11 am Sat at Hillcrest Memorial Park
