      Grandfather, Absolam Tennisdon -1770-1774 - The St. Mary's Co., Md. Debt Books of 1770-1774 show that in these years Absolam Tennison is the owner of "Inclosure," containing 62 acres.       Comment Ralph D. Smith: Absolam is still a young child at this time. Prior to 1770, "Inclosure" was owned by #2. Absolam Tennison, the grandfather of this Absolam. Young Absolam has succeeded to "Inclosure" through the Dec. 1767 will of his grandfather.
      Absolam. In the 1770-1774 Debt Books, Absolam is listed next to his uncle #2b. Justinian Tennison who has succeeded to the remainder of #2. Absolam's lands.

      ABSOLAM TENNISON OF ST. MARY'S CO., MD. - 2a(1).
      Feb. 5, 1834 - The St. Mary's Co., Md., will of Absalom Tennison, probated Feb. 13, 1837, leaves to:
      Wife: Elizabeth Tennison, all of my estate both real and personal during her life.
      Daughters: Margaret Tennison and Ann Pamelia Tennison, all of my land during their single life.
      Children: Elizabeth Milburn, John Tennison, Robert Tennison, Bennet S. Tennison, Margaret Tennison, Ann Pamelia Tennison, William Henry Tennison, and Absalom Cofser Tennison, the proceeds from the sale of my land after the death of my wife and the death or marriage of my daughters Margaret and Ann Pamelia, and the proceeds from the sale of my personal estate after the death of my wife.
      My personal estate is to be sold by Thomas K. Biscoe.

      May 8, 1820 (probate date of undated will) - The St. Mary's Co., Md. will of John Welch leaves, among other bequests, to son William Washington Welch, the parcel of land, now my dwelling place, which I purchased of Absalom Tennison and William Jones, lying on the east side of the new road and binding on said road and also binding on St. Jerome's Creek, being a parcel of several tracts of a larger parcel generally known by the name of "Scofts" (?).
