  Jane is probable connected to the following: Hopewell Adams b. bef 1735 and d. 1799 Edgecomb Co., NC and wife Elizabeth SMITH ADAMS. b. bef 1735 St/ Mary's Co., MD; and d. 1794 Edgecomb Co., NC They lived in Somerset Co., MD before moving to Edgecombe Co., NC. There was a larger group of ADAMS and HOPEWELL families in that area. From web site "Early Colonial Settlers of Southern Maryland and Virginia's Northern Neck Counties" maintained by Mike Marshal. Fay Tennyson Davidson cited a record of 1789 of Abraham Tennison, Sr. Selling his land reign next to Hopewell Adams to Edward Hall. Hopewelll Adams daughter married Abraham.
