    • 1718 Samuel purchased 110 Acres "Watts Lodge".
5/2/1726. Samuel Tennison and his wife Elizabeth convey to Samuel LOVE
part of "Westwood Manor", formally in ST. Mary's County now Charles county, and part of "Lumber Street" 100 Acres. Samuel Tennison hereby warrants these present against himself and his heirs against the heirs of Elizabeth ELLIOTT.

In 1745 property called "Lumber /street" divided after Samuel's death with widow receiving her 1/3 share and Samuel's 5 children the rest.

=== Comment: Notice that the children are called orphans, suggesting that they are still minors, although son Matthew was an adult (he signed Samuel's inventory as next-of-kin), and dau. Mary was already married. The speculation in "The Tennison Family of Southern Maryland" that Ignatius Tennison (the other next-of-kin in Samuel's inventory) might be Samuel's son is now proved false

===SDGreen: Ignatius Tennison is the son of John Tennison who married Sarah Lemaster. Ignatius would have been a nephew to Samuel.

NOK: Susanna Love and Samuel Tennison (Skinner).

4/28/1724: Admin. accts. of Lucia Dobson (alias Lucia Love), Charles Co.
      Adm: Samuel Love.

===from Linda RenoI have this woman as Lucia "Lucy" (nee Dobson), widow of Thomas Love of Charles County. She was the daughter of Samuel Dobson and Lucy Stratton. Lucy Stratton was the servant girl who had an illegitimate child by her master, Arthur Turner that created such an uproar in 1658.

The NOK of Lucy Love are Susanna Love and Samuel Tennison. I am assuming that Susanna Love is the same girl who married Samuel Chunn January 20, 1730/31 at Trinity Episcopal and that she was the daughter of Thomas Love and Lucy Dobson. I am also assuming that Samuel Tennison must have been married to a daughter of Thomas Love and Lucy Dobson at this point in time.

====comment from R. Smith. #2). Rechecked and confirmed. (I'm not completely sure who Elizabeth Elliott is, but she might be Elizabeth Davis, daughter of John Davis and Anne Reeder. Elizabeth Davis married William Elliott prior to 1731).
Did one copy from the other and they're both mistaken? I don't know, but what's got me going is that Samuel Tennison did have a wife named Elizabeth (she was Elizabeth Bond, daughter of Zachariah Bond who died 1716 in St. Mary's Co. and his wife, Ann) and Samuel Chunn did not. Samuel Chunn's wife was Susanna Love.
I do have an entry for Samuel Chunn and wife selling 100 ac. of "Lumber Street", but it's 9 years later. Is it possible that Samuel Chunn and Samuel Tennison both owned parts of this property?

8/12/1735: From Samuel Chunn of CC, planter to William Warder of CC, planter for 2000 lbs. tobacco "Lumber Street", 100 ac. Wit: Robert Yates, Thomas Stone. Ack. by Samuel Chunn and Susanna, his wife. (CC Land Rec.).
      ===
I think that Samuel Tennison was either the son of Matthew Tennison (son of John Tennison and wife, Elizabeth) or he was the son of John Tennison (son of Justinian Tennison and Katherine Gresham). More proof needed!

3/20/1706: Matthew Tennison owed the estate of Robert Mason, SMC. (Robert Mason married Susanna Rodham).

When Samuel Tennison died, his sureties were Robert Mason and John Mason. (Robert Mason and John Mason were the sons of Matthew Mason, son of Robert Mason and Susanna Rodham):

6/5/1745: Admin. accts. of Samuel Tennison, SMC.
Sureties: Robert Mason, John Mason. Distribution to: accountant, 1/3. Residue to (orphans): Matthew Tennison, Absalom Tennison, Mary Mollyhorn, Elizabeth Tennison, Susanna Tennison. Adm: Mary Tennison.

There's also another, earlier set of accounts for the same Samuel Tennison naming his NOK as Ignatius and Matthew Tennison:

Admin. accts. of Mr. Samuel Tennison, 3/7/1743 and 6/5/1744; appraisers were M. Thompson and Richard Cooper; next of kin was Ignatius and Matthew Tennison; Exec., Mary Tennison (Skinner).

The only Ignatius Tennison I find is the son of John Tennison (son of Justinian and Katherine) and Sarah Lemaster. Samuel Tennison does not appear to have had a son named Ignatius:

6/5/1745: Admin. accts. of Samuel Tennison, SMC.
Sureties: Robert Mason, John Mason. Distribution to: accountant, 1/3. Residue to (orphans): Matthew Tennison, Absalom Tennison, Mary Mollyhorn, Elizabeth Tennison, Susanna Tennison. Adm: Mary Tennison.

"Maybe someone can add more or can figure this mess out!"
