The Arnett family had close ties with the Tennison/Dennis family. This relationship between the two families span over a hundred years and at least 5 states. Three Arnett contemporaries #1 Andrew, #2 Joseph B., and #3 James showed up in Caswell Co., NC in 1784. All three owned land close to the Tennison land in the northwest corner of Caswell Co., NC. John Arnett [b. 1766] was not listed in the tax records until 1789 with 85 ac. In 1790 he had 195 acres.
