  After the death of his first wife, Joseph married Harriet Gregory Dennis in 1822 in Warren County, TN. Harriet was living in the household of her half sister Cathrine Dennis Cox in Warren County. Her mother was married Edmund Lyons and may be Living in Warren Co., TN then settled in Monroe County, TN. Before the 1830 census. The couple raised a family of 9 children. The 1830 Monroe County census shows a male 10-15 and a female 10-15 that cannot be Harriet's children. The boy is thought to be Joseph’s son James from his first marriage but the female isn't know. Six children remained in the Monroe Co., TN area raising their families. Joseph and Harriett Gregory Knox moved to Overton County about 1851/2.
